Book Marathon 2011   Book Distribution (Sastra Dana)     On the occasion of Gita Jayanti (6th December 2011), ISKCON, Puducherry organizes a grand book distribution (Sastra Dana) Marathon. The marathon provides devotees with a unique opportunity to distribute the transcendental literature.This is a special month-long program to commemorate the teachings of Vedic wisdom spoken by Lord Sri Krishna 5000 years ago. His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder Acharya of ISKCON, encouraged his disciples to distribute the "Bhagavad Gita As It Is" all over the world. He set in motion the Bhagavad Gita Book Marathon The purpose of the Sastra Dana  is to enlighten people with the spiritual information given by Srila Prabhupada in his books, and to enable devotees to participate directly in missionary activity by sponsoring and distributing Srila Prabhupada's books.   How Can We Participate?  By sponsoring the books (form is given below)  By personally distributing the sponsored books  By contributing creative ideas for securing donations or distributing books  By telling others about the Sastra Dana    What are the Benefits of Sastra Dana? Everyone benefits!!! People in general benefit by having the opportunity to read about Krishna, and you directly participate in the preaching mission of Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Srila Prabhupada.
